This position is responsible for maintaining the county's electronic and paper financial records, distributing payments to vendors, and managing travel for employees.
Job Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintains the County's electronic and paper financial records; Reviews the weekly check run for accuracy in regards to vendors paid, amount, address, no sales tax; prepares envelopes and mails the checks; Keeps any checks that are to be picked up and distributes those checks; Manage training and travel reservations, registrations, and changes; Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail; Maintains the County's key inventory and key records for personnel; Records various electronic payments into the accounting system; Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
Education and
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; Seven (7) years of related work experience; Or equivalent education, and/or experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
